Save the Children in Bolivia

Save the Children began its operations in Bolivia in 1985, intending to contribute to the comprehensive development of children and adolescents in the most vulnerable circumstances. We work both in development programs and humanitarian response.

Our Country Strategy

We work in Bolivia to ensure:

Children and families affected by emergencies enhance their skills in disaster risk management, ensuring the protection of their rights.
Children and families strengthen their resilience to economic, social, and environmental vulnerabilities, including the impacts of climate change.
Children and adolescents are protected against all forms of violence, with a particular emphasis on gender-based violence, fostering safe environments.

For achieving these objectives, we are:

Strengthening the equitable participation and advocacy capacity of children, adolescents, and civil society in formulating and implementing public policies that promote their comprehensive well-being.
Building and reinforcing partnerships and alliances to optimize actions related to children's rights and gender equality.
Scaling up our best practices in government, institutional, and community management systems.

What we do

Save the Children in Bolivia works to ensure every child survives, learns and is protected. We focus on improving access to quality education, health and nutrition, protecting children from violence, and helping communities prepare for and respond to disasters.

By strengthening local systems and advocating for children’s rights, we aim to reach the most vulnerable girls and boys and create lasting change so every child can grow up safe, healthy and able to fulfil their potential.
