COLOMBIA

Save the Children has worked in Colombia since 1985 to protect the rights and wellbeing of the most vulnerable children. We support children and families through education, health and nutrition, water and sanitation, child protection, and livelihoods programmes. Our work also includes humanitarian assistance, cash support and livelihood programmes to help children grow up safe, healthy, and able to learn.

We work in Colombia:
•    Reducing child poverty by expanding opportunities and access to essential services for the most vulnerable children, families and communities and those affected by humanitarian crises.
•    Promoting safe environments to prevent and respond to all forms of violence against children, while prioritizing their voices.
•    Strengthening local and national civil society organizations, shifting power to local actors, and ensuring a gender-sensitive approach so all children can reach their full potential.
•    Connecting individual donors, companies and international partners to invest in children and their futures.
 

Save the Children in Colombia works with children, families and communities to improve access to essential services and strengthen resilience. Our programmes expand access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene; support food security through cash assistance and livelihoods opportunities, especially for migrant population. 

We deliver critical health and nutrition services, including mental health and reproductive health care; and protect children from violence and exploitation by strengthening families, communities and local protection systems.
