Save the Children in Venezuela
Save the Children has been working with local partners on the humanitarian response in Venezuela since 2018. Save the Children established a team in Venezuela in October 2019, making us one of the few international relief actors with the capacity and permission to work in the country.
Since the humanitarian crisis started to rapidly deteriorate a few years ago, Save the Children has been scaling its response through local partners to support the increasing number of children in need. Save the Children delivers health, nutrition, education, child protection, , water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and food security support.
Since 2020, Save the Children has reached more than 279,000 people, including over 156,000 children. In light of the urgent and increasing needs, we remain committed to working with all relevant parties to ensure that we reach the children most in need.
- 1.15M children are out of school and another 710,000 are at risk of dropping out because of costs, transport barriers and deteriorating infrastructure.
- 1.9M children need protection services in a context marked by family separation and violence.
- 5.2M lack reliable access to safe water, while 83% of communities report limited access to cooking gas.
- 10.5M people face health-related needs in a weakened system.

OUR IMPACT ON CHILDREN IN 2025
Humanitarian access conditions continue to evolve, which may present challenges in reaching children as needs change over time.
Within this context, our teams continue to adapt their approaches to support the continuity of assistance. Through sustained collaboration with local partners, engagement with community-based networks, and strong technical expertise, we aim to operate effectively in complex and dynamic environments, maintaining our commitment to reaching children with essential support.
