OUR PROGRAMMES

Save the Children works across Lebanon to support children affected by conflict, displacement and economic hardship. Our programmes help children stay safe, continue learning and access essential services. We support education through formal and non-formal learning, strengthen child protection and mental health services, and promote children’s rights and participation.

We also assist vulnerable families through social protection, food security and livelihoods support, including cash assistance and skills development, while improving living conditions through shelter and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services. Working with local partners and national institutions, we aim to protect children and strengthen the systems that support them.

OUR PARTNERS

We work with a wide network of national and local organisations, youth groups, government institutions, international agencies and academic partners to strengthen advocacy and accountability for children’s rights across Lebanon.

Our partners include Arcenciel, Al Fayhaa, ISWA< Mouvemnet Social Libanais, Nabad, Akkarouna, Fairtrade Lebanon, Maps, ISD, HAND, Nabaa, PWHO, and Tadamon.  Youth groups, such as the Lebanese Spotlight Youth Group, are actively involved. Collaboration with government entities extends to the Higher Council for Childhood, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), General Security, and State Security.

International agencies and networks include UNICEF, ESCWA, and the Manara Network. Academic partnerships are maintained with the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) through the Arab Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights and with the Notre Dame University (NDU) Faculty of Law.

At regional and national levels, our programmes engage with the Alliance of Civil Society Organisations for Child Rights to strengthen advocacy and accountability.

OUR RESPONSES

Save the Children has been at the forefront of major emergency responses in Lebanon, ensuring children and their families— particularly those forced to flee their homes and displaced by crises — receive immediate and life-saving support when they need it most. Through each crisis, we have remained committed to protecting children, protecting their well-being, maintaining learning opportunities, and advocating for their rights during and beyond emergencies.

Most recently, we have responded to:

  • Lebanon–Israel conflict, supporting displaced families with emergency relief items, child protection services, learning support and essential assistance.
  • The Beirut Port explosions, providing emergency relief, mental health and psychosocial support, and education support to children and families affected by the devastation.
  • Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis, assisting vulnerable families through cash assistance, food support and access to essential services.
  • The Syria displacement crisis, supporting refugee and host communities across Lebanon with education, child protection, cash assistance and essential services.
