WHAT WE DO
Our priorities
Save the Children Nepal’s priorities are guided by its Country Strategic Plan 2025–2027, focusing on ensuring that children survive, learn and are protected, while addressing the growing risks posed by climate change and inequality.
We work to ensure that children receive quality education in safe, inclusive and climate-resilient environments, and that children, adolescents and mothers have improved and equitable health outcomes through stronger health systems. We strengthen child protection systems so that violence against children is not tolerated, and support parents and youth to adopt climate-resilient livelihoods that enable families to invest in their children’s futures.
At the same time, we work with children, families and communities to strengthen their ability to anticipate, adapt to and recover from climate-induced shocks, while supporting children and youth to advocate for change.
How we work
We use evidence-based advocacy to influence child-centred, gender-responsive policies, plans and budgets across all levels of government. Our programmes apply social and behaviour change approaches to address harmful norms and improve outcomes for children and youth.
We promote meaningful participation of children, communities and local actors across the programme cycle, and strengthen locally led solutions through equitable partnerships with civil society, including rights-based organisations.
We also invest in generating evidence in emerging areas such as mental health, digital innovation and climate resilience, and use this to inform programming and influence decision-making.
Our commitment
We prioritise children from underrepresented groups, including children with disabilities and those from diverse SOGIESC communities. We advance gender equality and inclusion across all our work.
As a dual mandate organisation, we respond to both humanitarian and development needs. We continue to strengthen partnerships with government, civil society and the private sector and ensure that resources are directed towards delivering impact for children.
Together, we work with children, communities and partners to ensure that all children in Nepal survive, learn and are protected.
